Testing out Korean beauty products, as recommended by TikTok
As a Tiktok user interested in beauty and fashion content, I couldn't overlook these products! They are all over my For you page, and I've seen these products mentioned at least once. So, as a part of my global experience when I visited Korea, I decided to splurge on these products!
As info, my skin type leans towards dry and sensitive. Also, if some of the products work for me, it doesn't mean it would work for you and vice-versa. So please take information from this blog with a grain of salt! Otherwise, have fun reading my journey trying out these products!
Numbuzin Super Glowing Essence Toner (SGD 30.66)
3.5/5
I was inquisitive about this toner and why it earned its best-selling title in Olive Young, Korea. The consistency of this toner is pretty thick, which is perfect for prepping the skin before doing makeup. Just like the name suggested, the toner left off a glowing finish to the skin, and I noticed after using it that the rest of my makeup base products absorbed the skin very well. With the price and the amount you get (300mL), it'll last you a long time!
Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics SPF50+ PA++++ (SGD13.00)
4/5
Relief Sun is a lightweight and creamy type organic sunscreen that is comfortable on the skin, which is the reason why I love this sunscreen! Even if you apply a super thick layer of sunscreen onto your skin, it is not sticky and gives a moist finish like a light moisturizing cream. This might be the most non-sticky sunscreen I've ever tried! (I've tried a lot of sunscreens, believe me). Another thing to mention is that this sunscreen has no smell, a.k.a. No fragrance! So it's perfect for fellow sensitive-skin girlies or guys out there!
Espoir Peach Skin Fitting Base (SGD36.58)
3/5
Still in the base makeup category, I decided to try this Espoir makeup base. Formulated with SPF, this lightweight base is perfect if you are trying to brighten up your skin and get rid of dullness. I am very picky regarding tone-up products, as I've noticed that these products often leave a white-cast finish. However, this product has managed to change my mind. Though you only need a little product at a time, it'll start to make your skin greyish if you apply too much. It is pretty expensive compared to other tone-up bases, but it's reasonable for the result!
Clio Kill Cover Mesh Glow Cushion
3/5
I've seen everyone on social media raving about this product and wanted to try it! The first impression about the packaging is that it's big and incompatible. Formula-wise, it's in the medium coverage, but if you are trying to cover acne and imperfection, you need more than one layer.
So Natural All Day Tight Make-Up Setting Fixx
5/5
Saving the best for last, this setting spray deserves the hype! The mist is so delicate and acts as a powder when spraying it. It's perfect for people who dislike those big droplets type of setting spray, which I included. If you wear a mask, I noticed a bit of transfer by the end of the day, which is quite impressive, considering the other setting spray I've tried would leave me much more transfer.
